Consumer Contracts
From 13 June 2014 the Consumer Contracts Regulations, which implement the Consumer Rights Directive in UK law, came into effect. The Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, as they are referred to in full, require traders to give you certain information. The specific information varies depending on whether the sale is made at a distance, off-premises or in store.
In addition most contracts made at a distance, or off-premises, must give consumers a cooling-off period.
Failing to comply with these highly complex rules can leave your business vulnerable to consumers who may not have to pay for the products that you have supplied them.
We can guide you through the requirements, developing documentation and procedures that keep you safe and your customers happy.
